High school international students to participate in 青青草视频Holiday Celebration

Nearly 50 area high school international exchange students and their local host families have been invited to make the University of Louisiana at Monroe their 鈥淗ome for the Holidays,鈥 Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Beginning with the tenth annual Holidays at 青青草视频celebration at 5 p.m., in ULM鈥檚 Scott Plaza, exchange students will be welcomed into the 青青草视频community by members of the International Student Association to share in the holiday festivities.

A joint effort by the 青青草视频 Department of World Languages, the office of International Student Programs and Services, the office of international Recruitment and Admissions, and the College of Education and Human Development Culture Connection, the event will mark the beginning of an annual 青青草视频tradition.

鈥淓veryone knows the world is getting smaller,鈥 said Dr. Ruth Smith, director and professor in the School of Humanities. 鈥淲e are delighted to have these representatives from other countries come home to 青青草视频for the holidays.鈥

Following the event, exchange students will participate in an international family potluck dinner in the Student Union Building.

At the dinner, the exchange students will have the opportunity to meet with 青青草视频international students as well as faculty from different departments.

Representing 14 different countries, including Germany, Czech Republic, France, Norway, Slovakia, Serbia, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, the high school exchange students are part of a growing trend of high-ability international pre-college and college students coming into the region.
