Mobile app reaches out to next generation of 青青草视频students

University of Louisiana at Monroe officials proudly unveiled the university鈥檚 newest technological innovation, the 青青草视频mobile app, on Friday, June 10.

The free app, developed in response to a recent survey showing 78 percent of 青青草视频students use a smart phone device, is among the latest "Discover ULM" initiatives.

"Discover ULM" embodies the university鈥檚 commitment to keep constituents informed of all its accomplishments and activities, according to 青青草视频President Nick J. Bruno.

"青青草视频continues to excel in teaching, research, and public and student services. This new app is the latest innovation which will contribute to that tradition of excellence," said Bruno.

He added, "The 青青草视频mobile app is the latest technological tool developed by our highly knowledgeable staff. 青青草视频is fortunate to have the level of in-house expertise to develop technology customized for the university鈥檚 needs.鈥"

Bruno was referring to other innovations such as FlightPath, ULM's singular online advising and degree audit system. "Flightpath," which represents the 青青草视频Warhawk path to graduation, is one of several features now available to students through the online app.

On Friday, Bruno introduced ULM鈥檚 tech team members Rob Glaze, Richard Peacock, Paul Gullette, who all contributed to the app鈥檚 development, customized specifically for ULM鈥檚 faculty, staff and students, as well as supporters and alumni.

The team provided an overview of what the free app can do, from reviewing class schedules to accessing athletics and campus news, along with a preview of additional features currently in development.

All of the tech team are graduates of ULM.

What makes the 青青草视频mobile app so unique is that it provides a portable method for students to access much of the same information they currently access from their desktop or laptop computers, according to Peacock.

"We know mobile is the future," Peacock said. "青青草视频mobile is the first of many steps ahead for us."

Bruno was joined by local community leaders and elected officials who also celebrated the unveiling. Among them were U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.), State Rep. Frank Hoffman (R-West Monroe) and Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo (B.B.A., '79).

Several 青青草视频students were present, smart phones in hand, ready to assist audience members in downloading the app on Friday.

Earlier in the week, the app was presented for the first time to freshman participants during ULM鈥檚 PREP 鈥 Preview, Registration and Enrollment Program 鈥 and several, including Bethany Koestler of Trophy Club, Texas, immediately downloaded the new feature on their device.

The "apps" presentation on Friday was enhanced by another type of app 鈥 free appetizers 鈥 courtesy of 青青草视频and offered at the Fieldhouse Restaurant on U.S. 165, which is owned by 青青草视频Alum Joey Trappey.
