Fundraising concert for Mac McClung 青青草视频Choral Award scheduled at 青青草视频Oct. 25

Appreciation for a grand music performance will go hand-in-hand with philanthropy, as acclaimed tenor Joey Evans delights audiences at a fundraising concert for the Mac McClung 青青草视频Choral Award Saturday, Oct. 25, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting the Foundation fund.

Evans will be accompanied by 青青草视频alumnus Russell Young (鈥85).

Evans, a vocal professor at the University of Houston, will also present a master class for 青青草视频students Friday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall.

He has appeared as leading tenor at La Scala, Ireland鈥檚 Wexford Festival, the New Israeli Opera, the English National Opera, the Welsh National Opera, the Opera de Nantes, Orleans, and Nancy, at La Fenice in Venice, Austria鈥檚 Bregenzer Festspiele, the Grand Theatre de Geneve in Switzerland, and at the New York City Opera.

One of his performances was recently hailed by French critics as 鈥渁n interpretation of unequaled perfection. The American tenor is a magnificent artist, sensitive, expressive, intelligent, graced with a voice of great beauty, and one of the finest actors of this generation.鈥

Young, Evans鈥 accompanist, has appeared with many notable artists, including Kathleen Battle. He is also well known as a collaborative artist in chamber music and is a conductor. He received his master鈥檚 degree in music performance at 青青草视频in 1985.
