Starbucks Comes to ULM
In fall 2006, 青青草视频will welcome the only Starbucks Coffee Company in northeast Louisiana.
Of the nationally recognized coffee chain coming to ULM, President James E. Cofer, Sr. said, 鈥淲e asked ARAMARK to assist us in developing the retail space in the new University Commons. We are pleased that they could attract a quality brand like Starbucks to our campus.鈥
Mike Trevathan, coordinator of auxiliary enterprises at ULM, in cooperation with ARAMARK, surveyed 青青草视频students, asking them what they most wanted to see on ULM鈥檚 campus. Starbucks was near the top of that list.
An excited 青青草视频student, Josh Tolleson, a mass communications senior said, 鈥淚 think this will generate a tremendous buzz for the 青青草视频campus, as well as the city of Monroe. With all of the additions to campus, this one adds a touch of prestige and a great place to get coffee.鈥
Starbucks, which will sell premium specialty coffees, food and merchandise, will also appeal to the general public, Trevathan said.
鈥淚t鈥檚 here for the students, but we also need to recognize that the community is very integral in our momentum as a university,鈥 Trevathan said. 鈥淏ecause of the brand recognition, opportunity for future growth and attracting other nationally branded concepts to campus is immeasurable.鈥
Starbucks will offer students another great gathering place with large tables and internet access, said Robert Hoag, food services director for ARAMARK at ULM.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a good fit and it鈥檚 in a very good location for students and the city of Monroe,鈥 Hoag said.
